Do you read the Bible regularly, but would enjoy a new perspective on what you read? Would you like to supplement your reading with a one-of-a-kind book that explores the Bible in a whole new way?

This work by Diana Jurrs provides a poetic perspective on each of the books of the Bible.

An excerpt:

Alpha Plus X (after Genesis)

You started out so organized

from darkness you created light

You spoke a word you had a plan

dividing waters, forming land

You hung the moon upon the evening

planted trees of every kind

spun the days & months & seasons

next animals and then mankind

You blessed the whales, the woolly beasts

The birds, the cattle, all creeping things

By hand you formed a human male

then tenderly, a human female.

You gave dominion over all of this

for us to do with as we wished

Told us to name and care for it all

but we haven't been good stewards at all

How did the world get away from us?

Once called "good" when you quickened

our dust, we've an odd hunger

and we don't know why we eat

so many fruits, yet none satisfy.
